Imagine the body of an American Bulldog, with the energy and motivation of a husky-that’s our Terry!
Terry’s unfortunate start in life has impacted his development, and his perception of humans. To this day he remains terrified of human men.
He is very immature and undersocialized.
He is initially frightened of all unfamiliar humans, regardless of gender, but with familiarity comes a more trusting approach to female humans. When he realises he is safe, he can get cheeky and mischievous. He is a large dog to be quite literally throwing his weight around, so he has to be shown boundaries.
Lead training has been slow due to his apprehension and fearfulness, and is ongoing. When he feels safe with his handler, his whole demeanour changes, as does his expression, and you see a young dog who just wants to let himself go, have fun, be a bit of a clown, and be loved and looked after.
Terry is an extremely energetic boy who loves to run, so a lawned garden is a must for him. His other great loves are food, and sniffing every blade of grass.
Terry would suit a quiet, rural location, with a home environment large enough to accommodate his size and energy.
His new owners will need to be capable, calm, patient and sympathetic, but able to set and uphold boundaries, and commit to training. A sense of humour is a must.
No children or young teens, and no other pets please.
This stunning boy deserves the chance to experience life as a loved and cherished pet dog. He has time to make up.
