A VALENTINE’S fundraiser with a twist was staged in Threemilestone.
The event at Threemilestone Community Centre paired together four-legged singles hoping to catch one another’s eye.
The Valentine’s dog show raised more than £500 for Canine Crusaders in Bissoe, which relies on public donations to operate.
More than 40 dogs competed in categories such as Romeo and Juliet (best pair), Match made in Heaven (Dog most like owner), Never too late to fall in love (best rescue) and Long-haired lover (best long coat).
The money will go towards the charity’s running costs, which currently stand at £2,000 a month.
Classes were sponsored by Old Quay Inn, Punchbowl and Ladle, Renault Autocare, Trennick Mill, Tyrells Gift Shop and Pets At Home, with refreshments donated from Choaks, Lush and Bookers.
The charity deals with issues relating to dogs including rescuing and rehoming, with all staff being volunteers.
